HISTORY OF ROBERT BOSCH


Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn  Bhd, with offices located in Selangor, Perak and Penang. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in the areas of Automotive Aftermarket, Power Tools, Security Systems, Drive and Control, Packaging Technology, Solar Energy and Thermotechnology. The company has two manufacturing arms in Penang providing car multimedia systems and power tools. Bosch also operates joint ventures in Malaysia including BSH Home Appliances Sdn Bhd, FMP Automotive (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and ZF Steering (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. In 2014, Malaysia contributed sales of RM 552 million (EUR 127 million) and employed more than 2,500 associates.


Incorporate 1972, RBMA (PGP1/RBMP) is one of eight manufacturing pioneers in the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone in Penang.


RBMA (PGP1/RBMP) is active in Development, Production and After Sales Services of Car Multimedia products RBMP is the Development/Engineering arm of RBMA in the areas of Project Management, Mechanical, Electronics, Software design and Testing for Integrated Head Units, Navigation Systems, Car Radio and the Connectivity Control Unit (CCU) platform for passengers cars. PGP1 manufacturers Integrated Head Unit, Navigation Systems, Car Radios, Glow Control Unit (GCU), Head Control Unit, Printed Circuits Board, and other Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) products.


RBMA is under the CM (Car Multimedia) division headquartered in Hildesheim, Germany. Car Multimedia is one of the bussiness divisions in the Mobility Solutions (formerly Automotive Technology) bussiness sector of the Bosch Group.
